Growing up in California, my mother taught me how to bake in our home kitchen. I spent 10 years perfecting our cookie recipes — particularly our giant 6 oz Chocolate Chip Cookies and our Chocolate Walnut Cookies. Our friends and family raved about them and eventually persuaded us to take a big risk: approaching a local, upscale grocery stores about selling my cookies. I spoke with the bakery manager and promised to bring them a few dozen the next day to see if they would sell.
We stayed up baking that night and brought in 50 lbs. of cookies to the store the following morning. In record time, all eight-dozen sold out completely. The manager told me,” Go home and start baking!” And from that day forward, our giant, handmade cookie creations were known as CrumbZilla Cookies.
